Yes to all of those. It is a Crystal in a glass envelope, in a vacuum. A buddy of mine had had one
fail (got dropped) and one of the internal connections to the crystal broke loose, He removed the
"base" (unloldered) and cut open the glass with a glass cutter as low down as you could, carefully
"soldered" the gold connecting wirre back on the crystal/gold coating, re-installed the base
wiring, and then crazy glued the glass back in place, it was still on frequency.
