Mike,

   Examples of the SX-32 are, indeed, rare.
   My understanding, from a conversation I had several years ago with the late 
Hallicrafters design engineer Bob Samuelson, is that the SX-32 was designed as 
a slightly economized (two fewer tubes) version of the SX-28.
   But the SX-32 came on-line at the outbreak of World War II, so production 
was short-lived as Hallicrafters concentrated on the SX-28, S-27, S-36 and 
others that were ordered in great quantity by the military.
   Congratulations on snagging a hard-to-find collector's item...
