[Hallicrafters] Special September 11Th Global Glow

I remember where I was and what I was doing when the news of President JFK
having been assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963 broke. Some
events seem to stick in our minds, while others just seem to fade away. I know
the horror of September 11, 2001 shall haunt me for as long as I live and
remember. I am totally blind, as most of you know, and did not have the graphic
images indelibly burned into my neurons like most of you did. But the verbal
descriptions combined with my powers of visual recall )I was blinded on the eve
of my eighteenth birthday in October 1964 by a careless hunter) left minds eye
impressions that won't fade over time. 	
	
The Wednesday September 11Th HCI Global Glow will give each who wish to
participate the opportunity to tell your feelings as that fateful day unfolded.
We will be joined live by telephone with some fellow radio hobbyists who work in
commercial radio/TV and both saw the events happening before their eyes live and
others who read it as it came through the various newsroom feeds. Their personal
perceptions, as well as your sentiments, will all help to make it not just a
horrific anniversary to always remember, and learn from, but also one to make
this country stronger and to reinforce in each American's mind that freedom
always comes with a price tag. We fought to gain our freedom, we have fought to
preserve our freedom and we must always fight those who would take it away
today, tomorrow and always. Freedom has no price tag. Its existence is something
we should never accept as just going to be there, because if we do, it will go
away. What we fought so hard as a nation to gain, can be lost far more easily
through apathy, lack of vigilance and not sticking together as "One nation,
under God with liberty and justice for all."
