Don,
The main difference is that the "B" model has the same behind-the-glass
kHz dial, similar to the SX 115. The earlier models did not have direct
kHz readout. The A has a ring around the main tuning knob that,
unfortunately, does not exactly correspond to kHz readout. Also, the
B's main dial pointer cleverly moves up and down from band to band as
you switch, similar to the SX 115.
Also, the B's have VOX derived semi breakin TX/RX on CW. You can add
that to an A model.
Other circuit differences are minor.
I really like my B model, but I also liked the A.
Either way, you would have a wonderful transmitter - they really are
nice to operate. I would choose a clean A over a beat-up B.
