Jon,
An easy solution is a 70.7 volt line transformer as used in commercial sound
applications [paging; not bands]. The 1 watt primary tap is exactly 5000
ohms when the transformer is loaded with the correct impedance speaker on
its secondary [usually 4 or 8 ohms as marked]. 73.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Wanted - 5k matching transformer
Hello all!
I am looking to buy/trade for a 5k matching transformer. I would like to
R-46
my R-46B if you know what I mean. Or, if anyone can suggest the best place
to
purchase a new, comparable, matching x-former, I would greatly appreciate
it.
Thanks,
Jon Miccolis
