On the next two pages of the August 1965 QST with the ET3RS SR-500 console
there are two more great examples of 1960's Hallicrafters gear.

On page 83 there is a picture of club station KG6ALU on Guam. They have
their own rack mounted version of the SR-1000 station with SX101 RX, HT-32
exciter, and HT-33 amp. On Page 83 there is a picture of Victor HK0AI of
San Andres Island. Victor (known as Herby to his close friends) has a HT-37
and HT-41 amp along with a SX-111 which is mislabeled a SX-117 in the
picture. Victor was the main contact with San Andres Island for many years
and was a great help to Dxpeditions in the area. My first contact was in
1958 on AM phone
when he was using a HT-9 with VFO. He became a SK in the late 1970's.

Old Magazines are a great source of boatanchor pictures and sure bring back
great memories!
