tHE CAP PLATES ARE DIMPLED FOR RIGIDITY. Try to find a service bulletin
for that radio, there may have been an outboard trimmer on the top. 
That is a very stabile capacitor. If some one has messed with it- try to
find one from a junker.  I will look in my parts but don't expect much.
Look for some evidence that a turn or two may have been removed from the
coil?
