[Hallicrafters] SX-62 dial window (fwd)

Am restoring an SX-62 and upon inspecting the dial glass noticed around
the edges a crazing and lifting and curling of the frequency scale along
the edges for about 1/4 to 1/2 inch on two sides.  Rather reminds me of a
similiar effect on old photographic glass negatives.  Which makes me
wonder if the dial scales were done by a photo method.  Anyhow, has anyone
used some kind of fixitive to lay down the damaged areas and prevent this
effect from spreading.
