[Hallicrafters] R-274D/FRR Correction

Please disregard my last message, I was misreading the circuit. I AM
getting old.  Sorry for confusion.

 

The DC supply actually IS fed through the ballast, which makes sense.

 

However, I am still mystified by the S-5251 device, which is sitting in
the 5U4G (rectifier) socket.  Solid-state replacement for the 5U5G?
Anybody know?
