Hello Ken,

I wonder if this is doable, indeed. I am not well enough versed in the FCC
regulations to know what would have to be done, or not be done, to make this
compliant. The idea is an excellent one. Because it involves some effort, most
Hams do not bother, unfortunately.

I would be interested in hearing more about Ken's suggestion from those of you
who know if it is doable or not.

Thanks.

Duane ain't the only guy who cain't go to Dayton. Since we are amateur
radio operators, who push the operating research envelope, couldn't
someone fone patch the Dayton Hallicrafter seminar to a local gallon
station and in that way, guys not at Dayton could participate? You say
"broadcasting is illegal for hams": well, this would't be a broadcast,
but a roundtable rag chew on 20 meters, with everyone (say two stations
outside Dayton), ID-ing every ten minutes. In that way any swl who has
ears could hear that ragchew, if we knew when and where to be cruising
the dial. This would require only a minor change to the program - Waller
would have to have a ten minute timer, announce the timeout, and the
gallon station and his two buddies in the ragchew would ID, then the
discussion goes on. Sounds legal to me. Why isn't it done on a lot of
occasions? Why are speeches at ham meetings in the same format as
speeches at Rotary clubs? Aren't we hams? es 73 de KA5ELD
