Hello Halli fans
I have a question about the bandspread on my SX-71, or perhaps more
accurately about when the 11 Meter CB band was opened up (taken from the
ham community).
So far as I can determine, this set was manufactured in 1953 (tube dates
etc). This one has the 15M band bandspread dial (21 to 21.5MC) taking up
roughly half the dial width. The 10 Meter bandspread is calibrated from
just under 27.0MC (26.9) to 30MC. The area from 26.9 to 27.2 MC and 28.5
to 29.7MC is highlighted as are the 3.85 to 4.0, 14.2 to 14.3 MC
ranges. Interesting enough no areas of the 40 and 15M bands are
highlighted. I'm presuming the highlighted areas either indicate the
amateur "phone" bands OR the Complete Hambands as they stood in 1953. In
that case, is the 26.9-27.2 segment indicating the Amateur 11 meter band or
the 23 channel CB band (or were they the exact same spectrum).
What say old timers?
