Then if this is for 'personal direct email' there
is really no reason for it to reference the [list]
names or state that one must go to this web site
in order to obtain permission to "post" to a list.

Sound Logical ?

Perhaps the application/utility is just not written
or configured properly, if this is the case...

The bottom line here, is whether or not these members
that are receiving these notices have EVER sent this
person (address) any direct email, OR...  is it just
'harvesting' their addresses from posts to the list ?!
If the later... Then it needs to be shut down!  JMHO!
