[Hallicrafters] SX-100 Problem

Typically all of the paper capacitors need to be replaced, Ron. They are
probably Black Beauties, Tiny Chiefs, or something similar. They will be
tubular in shape and usually have axial leads. Paper caps deteriorate over
time and can render a radio unusable. If the tubes are all OK, put your
time ne energy into the caps.
What type of symptoms has led you to look for a problem in the subchassis?
The SX-100 is a nice radio. I'm working on one now.
