Subject: [Hallicrafters] HT-33B WTB

I'm just putting mine back together.... Hope to be using it soon, but I'm
still looking for a straight HT-33 as well as an HT-33A

Most of the prices have been better for the 33s than for used Alphas.
I've seen a couple of really nice (inside and out) 33-Bs go for $600-$800
and one that needed a little cleaning for $350...

I'm not sure why the transmitters and receivers go for much more than the
amps...relativly speaking when compairing them to what they cost when new.

True, it's difficult to find the PL-172s/8295As without as much gas as the
bake beans at a picknic

A note of caution:
For those looking at/for any of the 33 series amps...They are deceptively
heavy and due to the way the cabinet opens, many have been dropped. Look in
the back corner on the Gold colored cage that encloses the amp on three
sides.

If it's been dropped, there should be either a notch, or dent made in the
borner of the cage by the cabinet corner reinforcement.

It most likely won't hurt the amp itself, but it will probably take some
effort to straighten the PS chassis.
