[Hallicrafters] SX-28

     Hi, I have a question about the knobs on the SX-28. I am trying to 
clean up one I just got and the metal skirts are pretty grungy. I have 
cleaned an bit to much on one and the black background is now thin and the 
gold metal is showing through a little.
     You guys that have done some of these, how do you make them look so 
black and shiny with bright numbering. Have seen several on web sites that 
looked like they had new knobs.
     Is someone making copies like some guys are for other radio parts? John
