Re the S-40 and its variations.
I quote from Chucks book "the only difference I have found between the
S-40 and the
S-40A is the color of the dial. Some S-40 dials were white (amber with
age).
The S-40A dial was green).
I have a couple of white (now yellowed) nos, Have the S-40 part no on
them,
look like sss. No Not for sale. I no longer furnish H-C parts or
supplies.
Too much of a hassle with the purists.One person was upset because the
parts were not cosmetically perfect and not in H-C parts boxes..
yup, he will get bucks back- whenever.
