It's been a long time since I owned the SX117 and HT44 setup, but "as I
recall" the difference was they changed the frequency of one of the
crystals, OR they changed the "transceive" circuit slightly. Mine worked
fine and I never had to make any changes. It was one of the early ones too.
It "seems" as if it was a relatively simple fix.
Not so with the ceramic caps that went out. I had to replace all of the
coupling and bypass caps in the driver and final. These were all disk
ceramics which became leaky. The driver plate voltage was leaking through
the coupling cap into the grid circuit for the finals. Sure made setting
the bias a bit of a problem.
There was also one stage in the receiver where I had to replace all the
ceramics. That one I don't remember. I do remember taking the entire
circuit out of the receiver and replacing it. All I remember was that it
was over in one corner.

I'm not so sure that it is a "spec" rather than a frequency change. It's
just been too long ago to remember though.
Me? I'd just order the standard ones and give them a try.
As I recall, there are two complete sets. One in the receiver and one in the
transmitter. It seems as if it used the ones in the receiver for
transceive, but I could easily be wrong. (not the sideband generator
crystals)
