> Ken, I have to agree with you 100%. USPS offers a wonderful product
(Priority Mail) at a very competitive price and their shipping time is above
excellent.

Well, maybe. But not always. True, I've never had anything damaged by USPS
but speed isn't always there either!

Incident 1. I shipped a man in Arizona (from Central California) some
variable attenuators via "PRIORITY MAIL". Post office said about 3 days.
About a month later they hadn't arrived and I returned the gentlemans money
(I didn't insure the package). Then I received an email from him that the
funds AND the package arrived the same day and he sent the money back to me.

Incident 2. I ordered a couple coils from Antique Electronics in Arizona.
They were shipped the next day by PRIORITY MAIL and after nearly a month
they hadn't arrived. I called AES and they sent two more coils. A couple
days later the first shipment arrived. When it arrived I examined the box
and it was indeed mailed when AES said it was. The next day the UPS
shipment arrived and to save shipping costs back to AES I refused delivery.

Of course UPS isn't always that speedy either. I once shipped an Icom R-71
receiver to a man back East and it made 3 trips across country before he
finally received it. I got a "what's up" phone call from him as he thought
I'd recalled the package! AN, I think Duane once sent me a receiver that
wandered around the country awhile before it arrived here. That one had
some internal damage, tubes broke etc from bouncing around and had to be
repaired.
