I once visited a UPS loading dock at one of their centers...they threw the
boxes into the trucks! Speed means more to them than package care.

The SX-28 that was delivered damaged yesterday was the third boat anchor
that I've purchased on-line. The first two that I picked up off eBay, a
SX-25 and a S20-R were both packed the way that I suggested to the seller.
That was, bubble wrap the radio, set in a bed of peanuts, in a box, tape
well, suspend in a second box of peanuts creating a two inch cushion between
inner and outer boxes. This worked well, or was it because USPS Priority
Mail was the answer. Sadly, USPS does not accept anything over 70 pounds and
this tipped the scales at 86. I don't know, but I suspect that the USPS
workers put a lot more pride into their work than their counterparts at UPS.
