[Hallicrafters] Unwanted chassis holes!

That's a RULE 1 (of mine) Violation: "I DON'T MAKE NO NEW HOLES!!!" That 
said, they're there. They make the unit work better. It isn't original. The 
two holes are there, and NOTHING you can cover 1/2 inch holes is going to 
look original-short of BONDO (so to speak) and a fresh paint job. Hole 
plugs, covers, whatever... NONE of these things are "original". None of them.

I'd try to label them as well as possible to match (as closely as possible 
to the original lettering that is) and then I'd live with them.

I repeat: nothing you can do short of filling and repainting is going to 
make the unit "original". If that's what you want to do, get some of the 
body shop stuff (available at automotive paint specialty stores and places 
like Pep-Boys) and go at it.
