Sure, that was a term used for a sweep generator used to align RF circuits, 
particularly for TV & FM.  I think the name derived from the use of a 
mechanically coupled capacitance which was varied by a sine wave applied to a 
speaker which "wobbulated" the frequency of the RF oscillator.

(Unless my memory is clouded on this subject after 40 or more years!)
