Yes.  The first "sweep" signal generator I had many, many years ago used
one.  If I recall correctly it was an Eico, had a loudspeaker with a metal
disk attached.  The disk was one plate of a capacitor in the tuned circuit.
Adjustable 60Hz AC was fed to the speaker, this in turn caused the metal
disk to move at a 60Hz rate which "swept" the RF frequency back and forth.
The Eico manual said that speaker assembly was a "Wobulator".
