[Hallicrafters] Shipping Vibration Problems

A similar thing is happening to ground shipments that
go through the UPS sorting center in Mesquite, Texas
(Dallas area). In this case, the items have been
vibrated so badly that shorts have occurred in wiring,
slugs have been moved in coils, assemblies have been
loosened, etc. Again, there are no marks on the
boxes.
This began happening about October of last year and is
still going on. I have had a number of units that
were received with the problems and a number of units
that went out that were received with the same things
wrong. The only "common" factor is the Mesquite
sorting center. Thus, I now use FedEx ground. About
25% cheaper, slightly faster, and no damage even to
items that were not properly packed (incoming, of
course!). I can't say that about UPS.
