[Hallicrafters] SX-88 Question Update

I have more info on that cap now. It is a bypass cap on the sensitivity and
monitor controls that varies the bias for the RF and IF amplifiers. The
schematic calls for 10 mfd and my receiver has 250 mfd apparently factory
installed. I am told that it is somewhat non critical and that there is less
than 50 volts in this circuit but I was concerned about such a wide
disparity. Since I want to replace it as well I wanted to ask those of you
experienced in circuit design how the different values (especially the wide
spread in these two) would perform in this circuit? Did the factory make a
production line change to the larger value for C-120 for a reason? Was there
an incentive for them to change to a larger value than that originally
specified when the manual was printed? What would be their reasoning behind
this change?

Thanks, Greg
