[Hallicrafters] SR-2000 rcve noise

Gents, I have finally gotten my SR-2000 on the air a couple times.  I
have noticed that I get a frying sound every 30 or so seconds when in
receive mode.  Could this be a bad cap?  Has anybode else had this
problem?

Sure was good to get the old war horse on 20 for a couple QSO's using one
of the Delano curtain antennas. Worked Siapan with about 200 watts and
got a great signal report.  Antenna really does make the difference.
