Regarding the rectifier in the S40 A, my S40 A has
Serial No. 95932 on the tag on the rear of the chassis. It has a type 80
rectifier that appears to be original.  There are no tube numbers stamped on
the chassis.

Would be interesting to find out when this particular receiver was
manufactured. I suspect that it was an early S40 A by the 80 rectifier and
no tube numbers  being stamped on the chassis. Anyone know if there is a
correlation between serial numbers and date of manufacture. If I can assist
