[Hallicrafters] HT-40 drive problem

I have a nice little HT-40 that I am trying to get running up on ten
meters. Naturally power falls off as the freq. is increased but I can
only get two or three watts out on 29 Mc. It uses a 6CX8 for the
oscillator and buffer and a 6DQ5 in the output. The power out is fine
on 75, 40 and 20 meters. I realize that this transmitter was primarily
designed for novices and ten meters was not available to them back
then. Perhaps this is all the little rig can do up there. Anyone have
an idea?

Thanks,
