[Hallicrafters] dial cord

Believe it or not, I have had good luck using the nylon cloth leaded
fishing line (larger sizes) available at most sporting good stores..  I
find that it does not stretch, once it is pulled a couple of times and I
prefer it over AES's dial cord.

Just an idea to share.
