[Hallicrafters] More S-40A Material

You're not alone Randy; I guess we need to get a copy of this "standard
restoration procedure" to comply to the "standard" procedures.

In my case I don't restore radios (receivers, transmitters, etc.) for
show, resell, or auction. I fix radios to make them operational and
within the specs that were defined. Parts get replaced that are out of
spec., shorted, leaky, or blown apart. Dings and scuffs on the cabinet or
crud on the chassis are much less important to me. I'm the only one who
looks at this stuff at my location anyway. Replacing parts that are still
within spec, just because they're old, (they're going to fail soon
because they're old) never made much sense to me. When and if it fails in
the future, then you repair it.

Geeez! I hope my family doesn't read this "standard restoration
procedure".
