Sorry about that typo Hallicrafters, and other vintage gear, lovers. That should
have said "Live From The Slush Bowl", my backyard! Super Bowl, Toilet Bowl,
Fruit Bowl or Popcorn Bowl - The HCI Sunday 20 meter Net will be held on
February 3, 2002 in spite of hail, misguided Canadian Honkers or Hail Mary's! It
will commence with the pre-Net show at 12:30 PM EST, (1730 UTC). In an effort to
remove the glistening coating of ice from the Hustler 6BTV, I have bribed five
neighborhood young ladies to encircle the antenna with their battery powered
hair dryers in one hand and a cellular phone in the other. If the hot air from
one does not melt the ice, the other should definitely do it! If all goes well,
I will be flinging hotter than a chili bean puffer electrons skyward at 12:30 PM
EST testing the antennas, so join me.

The Hallicrafters Collectors International 20 meter Net officially begins at
1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC). The frequency will be 14.293 Mhz usb +/- for key
clicks, mike splatter and the sound of ice and snow rumbling off my Ham Shack
roof like a herd of Elephants doing the Rumba!

Question: Who manufactured the vacuum tubes labeled "Hallicrafters" used in the
Hallicrafters equipment? Was it Raytheon?

Question: Popular Electronics is the source of the phrase: "Key Clicks And Mike
Splatter" It was a monthly column. Who wrote it?

Question: Is anyone interested in a W9WZE Special Event QSL card being issued on
Father's Day this year? Featuring the father of Hallicrafters, William Halligan,
Sr., naturally.

Hey Peter, KH6GRT in Hawaii. Does that great station of yours still operate? If
so, fire it up and join us OM! Send us some warm waves from Ewa Beach.

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow, Super Bowl Sunday or not. So please check
in and let us know your latest boat anchor acquisition, restoration project,
tech tip, equipment wants or for sale/swap desires, exciting new DX contact with
vintage gear and anything else that pops into your mind that is permissible to
say on the air and radio related.
