[Hallicrafters] HALLICRAFTERS SX 101A MECHANICAL TUNING QUESTION

Can someone recommend a procedure to smooth out the main tuning on the
SX101a?  I have an all original 101a and the main tuning knob rotates
with a bit of stiffness. All other functions are ok.
someone who has already done this one would be very helpful for my
efforts.  Also where are the breaking and drag mechanisms on this puppy?
