Bill,

This topic has been discussed in finite detail many many times, already. Please
go to the Hallicrafters archives and do a search. You will find a treasure trove
of information on this very topic.

You can access them from the HCI web site, link shown at the bottom of this
page.

Rather than repeat the myriad of opinions again here, it is easier just to read
them from the archives. They are a source of information posted to this list,
and all qth.net lists, for about the past thirty months.

Nothing wrong with asking your question, just letting you know where to find the
answers you seek quickly and easily.

Best wishes,

I need to ask for some expert help from those of you who have successfully
packed and shipped a heavy Halli. I've got to pack & ship a near mint SX-62 (64
pounds). It will travel across six states to get to its destination. The buyer
can't afford to spend the $100 a professional packing service wants to box it
up. So, I'll do it with your helpful hints & experience. Have had lots of
experience successfully packing vintage electronics but only up to around 25
pounds. Need suggestions for packing material & technique as well as a reliable
(if there is such an animal) carrier to transport it. Thanks in advance, 73,
Bill
