I have a SR-2000 that the original owner modified for a stereo 1/4" jack
rather than the two pin amphenol. I don't suggest this but this shows how
hard they are to find.
Another hard to find item is the single contact amphenol 75 series nic
connector. The chassis mount
connector is available at Antique Electronic Supply and others but the MF1F
female is only available at hamfests and from Pemberton Electronics in
Indiana. K9STH found that a PL 259 will work as a replacement. You need
to cut off the center pin about half way. Much of the old gear and test
equipment use this old single contact mic connector with shield. Pl 259's
are about 1/5 of the price
of a MF1F if you can find it! They were about 35 cents when manufactured
by Amphenol.
