I believe the only way packing is going to improve is when all who pack are
required to be packed and shipped themselves by the postal system, UPS, FedX and
so forth. Once they enjoy the ride, their attitude may change. If not, who
cares, they are lost anyway!

I'm still laughing.......
Somebody with the time and means might consider putting together a pictorial 
website of ways to and not-to pack stuff.  Kind of a practical how-to-do-it 
handbook of all the hints and kinks discussed on this topic over and over 
again.
