I found a 260 on e*** 3-4 years ago for $50...it was built in 1950 and came
in the original box.
Someone made a point earlier about using the analogue meter to tune. This
is absolutely correct. You would go nuts trying to monitor the plate
current of an IF stage with a digital meter!

Hi Gang,
I wanted a Simpson 260 for years and when it came time to buy,
http://www.metersandinstruments.com/ had the lowest price I could find on
the Internet.
I apologize if this sounds like a commercial endorsement <grin>.

Greetings friends
I'm looking for a good volt-ohm meter. From your experience, should I buy a
new one or go the vintage route, something that I've done with all my other
gear. Thanks
