[Hallicrafters] VACUUM TUBE AMPLIFIERS

Real audiophiles tell me that quality sound is not possible from transistor amplifiers. While I might have another and contrary opinion about this since I own a good Rotel amp. I am also very keen to build a stereo amp based on vacuum tube circuitry. 

Anyone out there who has a proven schematic that I might have a look at?

Of course, I am aware, especially here in South Africa, that vacuum tubes (and other so-called "relic" components) will be difficult to obtain. But hey, this is a nation of pioneers and fronteirsmen, we are optimists!
