Well folks,
Today I went and did it. Moved the SX-71 from the overhaul table to the
listening bench. This bench is 8 feet long with the computer display at the
left end, then my primary listening post consisting of the DX-398, DX-160
and 5R10A (on an upper shelf). I plan on re-arranging things with the
monitor in the center (swivel), the above mentioned gear to the left (on a
small shelf allowing room for keyboard/mouse beneath) and then on the right
side put the SX-71 on a shelf with room beneath for a 2nd keyboard/mouse so
I can listen from either position. It looks like there might be "just
enough" room on that end to put the RCA Strato-World III portable (A solid
state Zenith T.O Clone circa 1958) after it's overhauled.

The SX-71 definitely DOMINATES the listening bench. That sucker is huge by
comparison and with it's "tonnage" it's a good thing I designed this table
to hold several boatanchors! The SX-71 is also the BEST LOOKING receiver to
come through here in a long time! It is now really a nice looking set (if I
do say so myself ;-)
