In the "PAST" started with a kind of a crystal radio used a old shaving
razor of my dad's with the lead pencil tip on the lashed up to a safety
pin. The coil was a toilet paper roll with old wire from a clock motor.
It never worked very well, tried different inductors but lacking was a
good
antenna. The head phones where held in just the right position to make
them work all. THEN moved up to a mail order germanium diode! not much
better performance.

In the "Present" Have a SX-117 HT-44 that I am restoring. Will start
looking soon for crystals to put in the to listen to
some of the short wave stations. Also check into the vintage net on 20m.

In the "Future" would like to find a SX-62 as it has the FM position.
The SX-62 would be most useful so we could get information about our
cousins
as they live near Lake Wobegon and Minnesota Public radio has a program
on Saturdays about the area. The SX-62 would also save on Pigeons as we
tie notes on the legs and they fly back to Lake Wobegon. The guy who
brings
the pigeons, Delivers the frozen Lutafisk tv dinner's to the stores in
the area.
