Not knowing the page, but offering a few suggestions in the dark.

Be careful what you name the page.
It's possible that he uses a non standard "default" home page name.
Many use home.htm, or index.htm. He may use something completely different.
Very few use an HTML extension, but some do.  He might use your call.htm, or
your call.html.

Try this...(No gurantees)
Download the default page and save it.
Then delete it from the server and upload your new home page.  Give it the
same name as the downloaded default page. (don't try to put both in the same
directory) <:-))
If you can't make things work you can always FTP the original default page
back up.
