Thanks for the explanation Glen.
I figured it must have something to do with neutralization.

I had four units that use 6146s and they took all three...and I used the Bs
when ever I could as figured if they were rated for a third more output and
I rand them at the same output and I had a bit of a safety factor.  Nor did
I run into any neutralization problems.

One rig was a 32S3( winged emblem, don't remember the suffix, but I probably
have a picture around here some where), and I had a hybrid...don't remember
the make or model, (Kenwood maybe?) as well as an HT37 and an HT32. I'm
pretty sure I'm missing one or two.
I did have a KWM2, but that had the original tubes and I never changed them.
