Folks:
Come on down to the Monterey Peninsula, weekend of 10, 11. The Marina
Festival of Winds ( http://www.marinafestival.com ) expects to attract
10-15K total folks for the two days. Ham radio will be well represented,
with an HF station, Possible UHF Echolink Station, and a Kite suppoorted ATV
system. In addition, on Saturday, Captain Daniel Bursch, KD5PNU, an
Astronaut with the current record of hours at ISS will join us, operating
the ham station in the science tent. Capt Bursch will be also glad to talk
to any of you and your harmonics (kids) about science and the space program.
(He'll probably will have some NASA patches to hand out for the kids....)
We set up the station, some of us on Friday Afternoon, certainly early
Saturday Morning, for opening at 10:00AM.
NEED AN ATV CZAR!
Elvie Hall, one of the senior students from CSUMB will fly her capstone
project, a (remote controlled) pan and tilt camera from a
Kite, and she will periodically bring the camera down to off-load
pictures. We hope to find a someone with a ham radio TV
transmitter to add to her camera package so that we can have LIVE TV
pictures from the kite to the tent. She has video and sound outputs from
her camera with RCA plugs.
Get in touch if you want to 'Get Radioactive' for this one...
