Hey Folks!
I just got word from the Project Leader of the outstanding job and results
obtained on the Mexico Trip!
The trip was an overwhelming success, and a real team effort!
Paul Vierling told us at Rotary Club that Wayne Rhoten, KD6HMJ, of GVARC,
provided outstanding service, not only in the radio end of things, but was
an invaluable language translator. Also first class was the video crew, a
couple of CSUMB students who documented the trip, and will produce a
video/still photo documentary of the trip!
Apparently my last minute donation of a cell phone paid off, and it was
immediately put into use at San Vicente! If any of you have old analog
phones, they can be useful down in Baja, so donate them please, if you are
no longer using them....I found my donor unit at Goodwill for $6.00.
We will go again in November, and beginning now, hopefully can find some
donor radios to program up for use in the clinics, and by the Ambulances.
(THERE IS NO TELECOMM, NOT EVEN TELEPHONES AT THE CLINICS at this time.) We
need multi channel radios, 50 watts or so, and able to be programmed for
freqs between 138 and 142 Mhz.
Anyone have, or know anyone who has some like these? Rotary club can give
Tax write-off recipts...
Of course the Doctors and Dentists provided incredible amounts of
professional medical attention at both San Vicente, and Erindada.
I think the student names are:
Alisa Moore and
Scott....
Congrats! ALL
