[GVARC] BBQ/Ham exhibit Sept 14;Marina

Hi Folks,

A reminder, that the Marina Getaway, is coming up on Sept 14, from 1-7:00PM. 
  A Rotary Club Mixer, it will feature a large gathering of Rotarians, from 
far and wide, and Locals from the Marina Area, and features a BBQ.  It also 
features discount packages on Local attractions, such as the Aquarium, and 
various Wineries.  Ham radio will be a feature at the BBQ location, The 
Community Center, building #29 of the CSUMB, on old Ft. Ord.  Map and 
directions below...

We have been asked to set up a ham station featuring HF ops and Echlink, and 
PSK 31.  Setup begins at 10:00am.  We have a small crew of people to man the 
station during the day, and can use some more volunteers.  Please contact me 
if you want to be put on the staion ops list.  ( [email protected] )
The setup venue is very much similar to Radiofest, with an indoor location 
and access to the outside for antennas.   There are large areas inside for 
schmoozing, and eating...Tours of N6IJ will be conducted.  If you had your 
own display in mind to present, that could be done, too; contact me to 
coordinate.
We also would surely like to invite you to partake in the BBQ also.  ($20.00 
gets you BBQ tickets and discount packages to local attractions.)
Let me know if you want to purchase tickets...Heavy Discount prices 
available, if paid in advance...All net proceeds go to the Marina Rotary 
club, for further investing in commuity service projects.

Directions by Car
>From Southbound 101 (San Jos�/Gilroy)
Follow Highway 101 south toward Salinas.

Merge onto Highway 156 west toward the Monterey Peninsula.

Highway 156 becomes Highway 1 south.

Take the CSU Monterey Bay/Fort Ord Main Entrance exit. You will circle back 
over the highway onto Light Fighter Drive.

At the second traffic signal, turn left onto Gen Jim Moore Blvd.

Follow the signs and banners to your desired campus location.
>From Northbound 101 (San Luis Obispo/King City)
Follow Highway 101 north to Salinas.

Take the Monterey Peninsula exit (Sanborn Road). At the stop sign, turn 
right to go back under the highway.

Sanborn Road will bend to the right and become Blanco Road.

Remain on Blanco Road until it bends to the left and ends at a traffic 
light.

At the light, turn right to merge onto Reservation Road.

Turn left at the first traffic signal onto Imjin Road.

Turn left again at the next traffic signal onto Abrams Drive.

Wind through the CSUMB Housing area, then, when the road ends, turn right 
onto Inter-Garrison Road.

Follow the signs and banners to your desired campus location.
>From Northbound Highway 1 (Monterey Peninsula/Seaside)
Follow Highway 1 north.

Take the CSU Monterey Bay/Fort Ord Main Entrance exit. You will circle back 
over the highway onto Light Fighter Drive.

At the second traffic signal, turn left onto Gen Jim Moore Blvd.

Follow the signs and banners to your desired campus location.

Follow Highway 1 south.

Take the CSU Monterey Bay/Fort Ord Main Entrance exit. You will circle back 
over the highway onto Light Fighter Drive.

Follow the signs and banners to your desired campus location.
