I recently modernized a REC-29 Power supply. I pitched the selenium rectifier and installed a silicon bridge rectifier with a 22 ohm 1 watt surge resistor. Ii also replaced the filter cap with a 220 MFD, 200 volt new one.The lowest voltage I can get is 122 volts DC.which suits me fine.
I used 3-pin Molex connectors for the DC and ground because I had them on hand.
I skipped the AC output for the Teletype motor. Why run one Teletype from it when I have so many!
Ohms law will show the power dissipation for various resistors at 60 mils. It is 3.6 watts per 1000 ohms.
I built a loop supply box with three jacks a 1,5 K , 25 watt resistor (way overkill) and 1K, 5 watt pot.
It is easy to dial in 60 mils. I have patchable 100 mil meters in multiple places.
I have another REC-29 that I am going to make the same mods to.
