"The AN/FGC-36 Page Teletypewriter Set is used to exchange typewriter
page messages between two or more distant points when connected by
a telegraph channel, and to record information received at high
speed on a multiple wire basis from such devices as computers.
The operating speeds are 368.1 opm (60 wpm), 404 opm (66 wpm), 460 opm
(75 wpm), 600 opm (100 wpm), 1440 opm (250 wpm) and 4500 opm (750 wpm)
as desired."
"Printing is accomplished on-the-fly with 78 continuously rotating type
wheels and 78 print hammers, Each print hammer mechanism is tripped
by its respective electro-magnet which is energized at the right time
by the Storage and Control units, The hammer is propelled against the
rotating type wheel by motor power in & regenerative action that provides
close timing and, thus, accurate registration of the printed
character,"
