One of the demonstration TTYs at the AWA Museum is a
Teletype Corp. Model 19, with an AN/FGC-9 label.
Over the past few weeks it has been occasionally missing CR
commands and has now stopped doing CR from a received signal
completely. Manual CR works OK. Visual inspection seems OK, no
missing springs and well lubricated.
Pressing the CR key and turning the motor by hand, I can see the
Function Bail push on the CR bar and the CR Clutch Fork starts to
move, but doesn't move far enough to disengage the CR Clutch (not
like the manual CR does). I adjusted the Operating Lever Stop
Screw down some, but it had no effect.
I am using Bulletins 138 & 144, but neither the text or
diagrams are very clear.
Any ideas what the problem might be & how to fix it?
