Paul,

Both Kleinschmidt Laboratories and Teletype Corp. bid and build prototypes for the US Signal Corps tactical teletypewriter, the TT-4/TG in the late 1940s.  Kleinschmidt got the contract in about 1950.

Teletype Corp. apparently gave their version the commercial name "Model 27" (since it was similar to the M26), but it never went into production.

Have fun,

My records show a TT4/TG being a Kleinschmidt model 100.
I have no idea why it is in a Teletype bulletin as a model 27.

All I have is the 1946 Model 27 parts book, which does refer to it as

I presume that was just a typo for the "KSR-28" which is listed in all
the PDP-4 literature.
