Ken & Group. [I've been a 'lurker' here on GreenKeys for a while now.
I am not on the air at this time, but hope to change
that soon. A few minor health issues have been
distracting me.]
I heard that Hank's son, [forgot his name; Jimmy?] inherited all of the unsold products,
sub=-assemblies and spare parts that were at the DOVETRON site at the time of Hank's
passing. Or, maybe this 'stuff' was early on placed in some kind of storage facility.
I cringe every time I see "Storage Wars", on the chance of seeing some DOVETRON
boxes in one of those facilities.
I think that some or many of the 'west-coasters' should do what can be done to find
out Jimmy's passing date and hopefully an OBIT which might show some names of the
'half-sisters', related to Hank.
That would likely be a good-sized amount of 'stuff'! Sadly, Jimmy died himself.
I never heard the cause or situation that brought this about. I don't know if
anything was ever sold out of the warehouse or storage facility shortly after Hank
passed away.
If I have been led astray on Jimmy's present status, I apologize. If he should
still be with us, I imagine that he would certainly be interested in disposing of
much of that 'stuff'. Otherwise, it might simply be auctioned off to someone
who knows nothing about electronics/RTTY/ etc.
I am hoping that someone 'out west' might be able to do a bit of detective work
and maybe find some of the 'stuff' that would make many 'GREENKEYS' guys very
happy.
One thing that Hank designed, patented and sold was upgrade kits for guys
with a CRT during display. The LED 'kit' was fairly simple and almost a 'plug
and play' thing for guys who knew which end of a soldering iron to hold onto.
One of my DOVETRONS got the upgrade kit, and with a bit of 'long distance
help' from Hank, it now works just fine. One thing I was asked to do was to
send the CRT back to Hank so it might be made available to someone with a
dead or almost dead CRT tuning indicator.
For now, 73 to all,
Ralph - W8ROI - friend of Hanks.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Dovetron LED tuning indicator
Gang,
Has anyone built an equivalent LED tuning indicator for the Dovetron
mpc-1000 series, similar or simpler, to the SSD-100K.
Thanks,
ken
