John,

Yes, this is for high speed Morse. Sometimes called a "Wheatstone Perforator" as Wheatstone came up with the original idea of the punched tape. But Wheatstone's unit only had three buttons: "Dot" "Space", & "Dash" and you actuated the buttons with little hammers. It was known as a "Mallet Perforator."

Edward Kleinschmidt developed the keyboard operated perforator in the 1910-20 period.  It was manufactured & sold under the Kleinschmidt Electric, Morkrum-Kleinschmidt, and Teletype Corp. names and used up into WWII.

The "Kline" perforated two sets of holes to encode Morse and Boehme machines read the tape to key a TX. Note the WPM "Speedometer" goes up to 500wpm!

They have some at the Maritime Radio Historical Society station KPH (https://www.radiomarine.org). They might want some more.

Thanks for saving them!

So I stupidly drove a long way with my empty trailer to look at some gear that was part of a now-closed museum.

So about a ton of Stuff later, I have the pictured items (among many, many other thingies – more nice TTY gear, will post later.

Anyway – I suspect this is Teletype Morse Code gear – I dunno. Hopefully someone will be able to identify this stuff.

I also got several hundred feet of punched tape that I’m going to transcribe and possibly archive.

Cheers
