This is an MSI Model 1100 data coupler of some kind – it is either RO or XO; there’s only one transducer in a spring-loaded carrier – obviously you stick the telephone reciever in it. Might be a transmitter, since there is a notch for the handset cable, and that typically exited on the ‘talking’ end.
